Fibromyalgia

Fibromyalgia is a complex and often misunderstood condition. Individuals often have a long journey to diagnosis and is characterised by chronic widespread pain, fatigue, and a variety of other symptoms, impacting daily life and common to have periods of flair, with worsenning symptoms.

While the exact cause of fibromyalgia is not fully understood, research suggests that factors such as genetics, infections, physical or emotional trauma, and hormonal imbalances may contribute to its development.

Some common symptoms associated with fibromyalgia include:

  • Chronic Widespread Pain

  • Fatigue

  • Sleep Disturbances

  • Cognitive Difficulties

  • Stiffness

  • Headaches & Migraines

  • Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)

  • Depression and Anxiety

  • Sensitivity to Stimuli

  • Numbness & Tingling

  • Restless Legs

  • Bladder or Pelvic Pain

It's important to note that fibromyalgia symptoms can vary widely from person to person and may fluctuate in severity over time. Additionally, fibromyalgia symptoms can overlap with those of other conditions, making daily life more challenging.

Working with Claire

As a nutritional therapist, I'm passionate about helping individuals with fibromyalgia manage their symptoms and improve their overall quality of life through personalised nutrition and lifestyle interventions.

Nutritional therapy focuses on using food and nutrients to support the body's natural healing processes and promote overall well-being. While nutritional therapy cannot cure fibromyalgia, it can play a supportive role in managing symptoms and improving quality of life. Good nutrition is essential for energy production and without the adequate intake of fuel, vitamins, minerals and nutrients from our diet, our body cannot provide us with our optimal energy & vitality, thus effecting our physical and mental performance and often is seen in fibromyalgia symptoms.

As a nutritional therapist, we take a holistic approach to fibromyalgia management, considering the unique needs and goals of each individual. My aim is to work with you to develop a personalised nutrition plan that supports your specific needs and goals. This may include recommendations for diet, nutrition, lifestyle, supplement and other steps in your plan for the management of fibromyalgia. Certain foods may trigger or exacerbate fibromyalgia symptoms in some individuals. I'll help you identify potential trigger foods and make informed dietary choices to minimise symptom flare-ups. We will also work to support gut health, cognitive function, stress management and work with other symptoms you maybe experiencing such as migraine and headaches.

Fibromyalgia can be a challenging condition to manage, but with the right support and guidance, it is possible to improve symptoms and enhance overall well-being. As a nutritional therapist, I'm here to help you navigate your fibromyalgia journey and empower you to make informed choices that support your health and vitality. If you're ready to take the next step towards better health, I invite you to schedule a free discovery call. Together, we can work towards a brighter, healthier future in your management of Fibromyalgia.

"After a diagnosis of fibromyalgia and perimenopause I was looking for a way to manage the symptoms I am experiencing naturally rather than through a reliance of pain killers. Claire has helped me so much with my journey after just a few months the cluster headaches I was experiencing have practically disappeared, my energy levels have increased and I feel once again that I am able to cope with life.  My journey is still ongoing but I have only positive results from the changes I have made so far.  Claire is so professional and knowledgeable she really cares."
