What you may not know if that our gut health is intrinsically linked to our overall health and hormonal balance. When our gut isn't optimal hormones can often become unbalanced. There are many factors to explore such as digestive health, our nutrient absorption, our microbiome and also its important role in excreting our used hormones to name just a few! Our hormones have a wide variety of effects on the body and act like chemical messengers instructing organs and cells to perform tasks such as metabolism, growth, repair, sexual function and mood. We have hormonal fluctuations throughout the week, month, and years as part of a normal hormonal cycle, however when these messages get dysregulated hormonal imbalances can occur, resulting in a wide spectrum of unwanted symptoms, such as:

  • Irregular periods

  • Absent periods

  • Painful periods

  • Heavy periods and flooding

  • PMS

  • Breast pain,

  • PCOS

  • Endometriosis

Other testing such as genetic testing may also be helpful to determine gene variants that may contribute to your symptoms.
