Female Hormonal Health

Our hormones have a wide variety of effects on the body and act like chemical messengers instructing organs and cells to perform tasks such as metabolism, growth, repair, sexual function and mood. We have hormonal fluctuations throughout the week, month, and years as part of a normal hormonal cycle, however when these messages get dysregulated hormonal imbalances can occur, resulting in a wide spectrum of unwanted symptoms, such as:

  • Irregular periods

  • Absent periods

  • Painful periods

  • Heavy periods and flooding

  • PMS

  • Breast pain,

  • PCOS

  • Endometriosis

  • Fibroids

  • Mood Swings

  • Weight gain

  • Perimenopause and menopause

  • Night Sweats

  • Anxiety

  • Libido changes

  • Skin changes and acne

  • Thyroid changes such as underactive/overactive or Hashimoto Thyroiditis

  • UTI & Thrush

Common Hormonal Conditions I work with include:

  • PCOS (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome)

  • Endometriosis

  • Hypothyroidism (including Hashimoto's Thyroiditis)

  • Hyperthyroidism

  • Adrenal Insufficiency

  • Diabetes (Type 1 & 2)

Working with Claire

Our approach is to investigate the underlying issues and help support hormonal balance. Nourishing our hormonal health can improve these symptoms significantly with our aim to support, educate and return our hormones to balance and to optimal function.

Although not always necessary, diagnostic testing is available to help us understand your presenting picture and look at contributing factors to help address getting you back into balance. Other testing such as genetic testing may also be helpful to determine gene variants that may contribute to your symptoms.
