Chickpea Wrap Recipe (Gluten, Dairy & Egg Free)

Learning to cook fresh, healthy, nutritious food that is suitable for your food allergies, sensitivities or suit your nutritional needs is such a valuable skill!

These wraps are no exception and they are full of nutritious goodness, easy to make and full of flavour, plus they only contain a few ingredients. Use them to wrap your favourite fillings such as hummus and salad or falafels and leaves or meat, chicken or fish for a filling, healthy, nutritious lunch!

These fabulous gluten free, dairy free wraps are made from chickpea flour. This is one of my staple ingredients and so versatile! These are perfect for lunches, dinners, snacks and packed lunchboxes. These can be tailored to your tastes, give them a twist by adding with herbs, spices or garlic.

Chickpea & Flax Wraps

These Wraps are so versatile and can be eaten both with sweet or savoury.

I love these with herbs, garlic and chilli added into the mixture and then filled with salad, cucumber, tomatoes and olives and lashings of hummus.

You can add a Mexican twist by adding coriander, cumin and chilli for example to the batter and serving with chilli or use them with chicken or vegetable fajitas. The possibilities are endless.


o 1 cup of chickpea flour

o 2 tbsp ground flax seeds

o 1 ¼ cups of warm water

o Pinch of salt and pepper

o Optional additions may include fresh or dried herbs such as chives, coriander, parsley, garlic powder, onion powder, chill flakes,

1. In a large bowl mix together the flax, chickpea flour, and salt

2. Add warm water and whisk until smooth then leave to sit for 10 minutes.

3. Heat up a large frying pan or skillet on a medium heat.

4. Use a tiny amount of coconut oil or virgin oil to stop sticking.

5. Pour some batter into the pan and swirl around like making pancakes.

6. Cook for around 1 minute or until set and then flip to cook the other side.

7. Transfer to a plate and then repeat.

8. These can be frozen between baking parchment and take out one when required.
